Institute of Refractories Engineers Opens Bookings for 2026 UK Training Programme

The Institute of Refractories Engineers (IRE) has opened bookings for its 2026 UK Training programme, offering professionals across the refractory industry the opportunity to enhance their technical knowledge through expert-led training.

Designed for engineers, technicians, graduates and industry professionals, the programme forms a key part of the Institute’s commitment to raising professional standards and supporting continuous learning throughout the refractory sector. The training complements the IRE’s wider programme of conferences, technical meetings and networking events, providing delegates with practical knowledge that can be applied directly within high-temperature industries.

The Institute has made technical education a major priority, with President Dominic Oates highlighting increased training opportunities as one of the organisation’s strategic objectives. Recent initiatives have included expanded technical events, stronger collaboration with industry partners and the introduction of new opportunities for young refractory professionals.

The 2026 UK Training programme is expected to bring together experienced industry specialists to deliver presentations and discussions on key refractory engineering topics, while giving delegates the chance to exchange ideas and build valuable professional connections with colleagues from across the sector.

As a not-for-profit professional institute, the IRE continues to invest in education and knowledge sharing to support the future of the refractory industry. With members in more than 40 countries, the organisation remains committed to helping engineers and businesses stay up to date with the latest technologies, best practices and industry developments.

Places for the 2026 UK Training programme are now available to book through the Institute’s website. Those wishing to attend are encouraged to reserve their places early alongside the IRE’s conference and networking events.
